Halloween in Mallorca: Fire, Folklore and a 23°C Sea

By late October, most of Europe is zipping up its coat and staring at a rain-streaked window. Mallorca is doing something else entirely.

Daytime temperatures sit at a comfortable 20-24°C. Evenings cool to a mild 14-16°C. The Bay of Palma still hovers around 23°C, so a post-work swim needs no wetsuit and no bravery. Summer’s crowds have gone home. The coast and old town go back to the locals and the people who live here for a season. Terraces are quiet, coastal trails are empty, and Palma is an easy ride on Bus Line 25.

Halloween has competition. Mallorca marks Nit de les Ànimes (Night of the Souls), its own take on All Saints’ tradition, with candlelit stories, street gatherings and fire.

The people

Community happens naturally: coffee in the kitchen, dinner on the patio, the Thursday street market right outside the door. There are no forced icebreakers and no mandatory activities. You get company when you want it and privacy when you don’t.
